its not my truck its my gf bros. it ran before the pump was changed but it would shut off after it got hot. put the new pump on it and it wouldnt start. they used either on it, i know not ideal, but we managed to get it running last night and let it idle for awhile. he got in it to drive it, made it to the end of the street and it shut off. had to push the damn thing home. i was thinking about buying the truck but damn i think ill stick to gas.
they cranked on it for quite awhile. i wasnt there to help from beginning just left with the aftermath lol. now trying to piece all of it together haha
What rick said. Most likely the hpop wasn't the problem.how did the o rings on the ipr look when you had it out? Did you tighten the nut back up? I agree its probably either injector o rings or ipr orings. Shuting off when warm is not a hpop problem as you just found out because it did the same thing after it was changed
he said a mechanic supposedly tested it?? idk like i said i wasnt there at the beginning lol. what are some of the signs that the HPOP is bad? cause it ran at an idle for about 2 hours he thinks it may have ran out of fuel the gauge doesnt work. as far as that goes i guess he will have to get more fuel to determine if thats why it shut off. none of the shops he took it to were a known diesel shop just some common garages around town. do you have a diagram of where the ipr is? ill check it for him, hes not mechanically inclined lol. im new to diesel but if its gas i can do anything
i wish hed hurry up and get the damn thing fixed. the 2 brass fitting stripped out on the water fuel seperator. atleast i think thats what that is called. he put fuel in it and it started but he couldnt let it run because they stripped those fittings out. so we shall see after those fittings come in
