Auxiliary Idle Control Module

Was this a factory option or what? Seems to me that it's a OE high idle. I've just looked for a few minutes and found them from $40-$500 for the same unit. Anybody have one? Worth a dang?

Yeah that's why I'd like one, for the A/C and heat. My buddy's durdge has it foctory as well. He just cuts on the cruise control and uses accelerate/coast to increase/decrease the rpms. It defaults at 1100. I'm thinking I'm gonna get one if they're worth a dang or do a DIY high idle. It's gonna be a long while for a multi position chip. Will be getting a 60 hp econo and manual PCM flash here pretty quick for the mean time.

Me too man. I bet it will go smoothly. It's only bolts and wires.

I ordered my clutch on Monday at 1430 and recieved it Tuesday at 1300!!! Talk about dumbfounded. I couldn't believe I got a 20 lb package in less than 24 hours

I got a valair. It's an organic unit but all I could afford and really couldn't but got a better deal on it than an OE replacement. It's not a stock rating though. It's the 350hp/800ftlbs organic so I know it will hold me for a WHILE. And it ought to be nice and smooth too.

Don't be scared of the wiring. Even if you have to jump every wire around it's pretty real easy and shouldn't take more than an hour or so at the very most.

HAHAHAHA! Do it! Yeah, I feel ya. I can't tell you how many times I heard, "So how much longer now?" or "I sure hope it cranks and works right when you're done". And most of all when I told people what I was doing I'd get looked at like I was lime green and had two heads and they'd say, "Why the heck would you wanna do that? If I was you I'd just buy a new truck." Those folks can feed the stealer. I'll stick with my old 7.3. Besides it gets better mileage than a 6.4 any day and I don't have to take off the cab to change the oil.

I got one and like it, the wire harness is under the dash in the middle. have truck in park, set e-brake and push button. warms up truck faster then letting it idle. only thing I dont like is the lowest setting is 1300rpm, I wished it was at 1100 rpm like the newer ones.

The controller also comes with voltage thing and I'm speculating the RPM rises if the voltage drops and guessing this was used by the previous owner that used the truck to power his 5th wheel camper. You can also get them with PTO to idle up if you have one.

If I found one for $100 I would buy because it just plugs in and bolts up under the dash with the supplied brackets, anything more to buy I would just wire myself or DIY idle controler or get one burned in on a chip.

Will say, it is worth it if you live where its colder.

I have an aic and its kind of cool I use it for warming up in the winter but I wouldn't pay much for one its easier having the burn on your chip. if you don't run an rv or pto you probably wont use it much. I dont

Cool guys. I don't think I'd want one with 1300 being the lowest setting. Maybe I'll do the DIY controller. Looks super easy and very cheap. I definitely won't use it a lot but some for sure and would like to have it for those cases.

You are supposed to be able to adjust the idle lower but I can't get mine to go less than 1300. The newer ones must be the only ones that go lower. Even at 1300 I like it. A high idle on a chip is quicker/easier but even when I had my SD with a high idle tune I still had the AIC in there. Typically they go for around $100, the PTO models command a bit more.
