My 95 f350 is hard to start if it sits up or in cold weather. I have fixed all my gp problems and it works fine in the summer, but it still has trouble in cooler weather. The guy I bought it from said something about a check ball and spring fell out from the oil filter base at some point or another. would this have anything to do with keeping oil in the hpop res. for start up. Truck works great when plugged up. and when I dont plug it the truck runs rough until engine temp comes up to normal. Like I said, I have new gp relay, vc gaskets and wiring, even intalled a bypass button for my relay so I can engage the gps myself. In the summer I can engage them for 2 minutes and the truck does great. Any input is appreciated. Thanks so much.
You engaged you Glow Plugs for 2 minutes at a time? If you did more then likely you fried the new glow plugs. 15 to 20 sec is the limit of a glow plug cycle. If it runs fine plugged in that would be my guess
That spring and ball that fell out of the oil filter base needs to be fixed. Your not pumping enough oil to the hpop reservoir to keep it running good.

THIS IS completely untrue on a PSD... The old IDIs were this way, but the PSD they have the glow plugs run for up to 2 minutes....
I tested one one day and it burnt out completely in 45 sec or so.
The PCM decides how long the GP's remain on based on EOT ..Leave the key on all day if you want , GP's will shut off when they time out running ,or not ...
I live in South Arkansas so its not all that cold yet. The reason installed a manual switch for the gp's is the ecu was not engaging my gpr. I have also noticed that when pulling off on an exit ramp on the interstate, as I push in the clutch and come to a stop the engine starts to run rough like there is not enough oil pressure for the injectors. Would the dealer be the only place to order the vavle for the oil filter base?
Thanks
