A little more progress
We just had our second baby so I thought that was a good excuse to finally get a digital camera. A nice side benefit is that I get to use it to document my truck restoration. It's not a terribly fancy camera (Canon A40) but it serves its purpose well. Now I'll have all kinds of pictures to throw up on my web site. If Dad would just quit yelling at me for trying to work with the camera in one hand and a wrench in the other, life would be good.

I have a question about the panel that contains the hood lock (referred to as radiator valence or maybe upper grille panel?). Is it supposed to be symmetrical in shape? Mine isn't. I have a feeling it was dented at some point in time but I can't tell for sure. Might explain why the passenger sheet metal drooped a little. I could take some pictures, if it would help.
On a somewhat off-topic note, I spotted a good old '62 Ford truck on the way home today. It was parked in the local Dairy Queen. Some trucks are still doing their jobs! Click the picture below for a larger version.

As always, check my site for the update!
Congratulations on your new addition!!!
Kind of puts priorities in perspective, huh? Yes, I mean that there'll be one extra pair of hands to help get that cab off the chassis. what did you think I meant??? !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Once an FTE'r, always an FTE'r
Congratulations to you and yours...
Daryl
... and what do you mean with a few more hands ??? Come on. It takes just two "non Mister Universum type" guys to get that job done. If you pull to hard it may slip out of your hands and 'ding' your garage seiling. I have lifted my cab on and off my frame a few times. It's a piece of cake.
Kai, you must have taken the ashtray and glove box out of your cab. I hear that makes a world of difference.
I started stripping the paint off my hood lock panel and it's definitely bent. It shouldn't take much to return it to it's original shape, though.
