Exterior black trim
Has anyone found a product that will restore the faded black trim ath the bottom of the windows on my 97 Expy? Is it conceivable to replace the trim? It is the only part of my truck showng any wear and I'd like to do something. Thanks.

You may be out of 3yr/36,000 warranty, but a friend with a '97 griped to dealer who replaced under warranty along with silver door rib strip (bubbles) because everybody's does it. I could have done the same, but her replacement window rubber looked about the same as original and my door rub strip on my '97 was repaced 2 years ago (due to an accident) and it has bubbled too. If they can't supply better replacement parts, why bother taking it in.
I found a tire gel rubbed on the window strip restores black for a while. You may have to apply two or three times for enough to soak in.

I found a fix for the black faded problem. Replace them with the ones on a navigator. They are chrome and nice and shiny, hence they don't fade. This will run in the 180.00 to 200.00 range but it is a fix.
