I would like to think that if a ship fires a missle from anywhere that enters our 200 mile coastal zone, the DOD would take a little more interest. Further, if they don't know what it is, I would like it to be shot down.
I guess I'm asking too much, what with budget cuts and all.
i feel very uneasy on this happening. chances are it was our guys who launched it, but no one is claiming responsibility for it. the faa claims there was no certifications given out for any launches, and the guy on msnbc claiming it was a plane is a g/d moron.
i would feel way better if they just came out and said yeah we launched it but it's classified.
i also particularly loved the pentagon release stating that it wasn't them that launched it, and they didn't know who did or what it was, but that it was not a threat to our nation. can't believe they said that.
Now they are trying to say it was just a vapor trail from an airplane.
How do they explain the glowing orange rocket trail? Even fighter jets burn blue, not orange.
Light refraction from the hot exhaust directly behind the aircraft can appear as "flame" when viewed from the right angle with the sun behind a jet powered aircraft.
Optical illusion? possibly.
I think the trajectory of the object rules that out.
Explanation I heard was, aircraft was actually coming towards Cali, light and curvature of the earth combined to make illusion of rapidly climbing ballistic projectile, If you look at the action shots, object looks to be barely moving, meaning it is actually coming towards field of viewer...........If you have ever witnessed a actual missile test, the acceleration is unmistakable, and extremely rapid......It would be nice to see better quality action views of this.

Seems to me like that phenomenon would have been noticed before, what with all of the aircraft there are flying around here.
