Quick F350 rear block question...

I am needing to add roughly 1" to the level of the rear of my truck and want to buy one new block instead of stacking a 1" block on top of my stock block. My truck is an 06 F350 SRW 6.0 4x4 Crew Cab. My question is what is the height of the stock F350 rear block. I believe it to be 4", but just want to verify so I don't buy the wrong size for the increase I am looking for. Also, I have heard people talk about having to shim the carrier bearing. Will I need to do this with only an inch or so of increase, or is this even relevant to adding a larger block? Thanks for the help.

You already have a 350 block in the rear what are you going to replace it with? How do you need to raise the rear to level the truck? What do you have on the front? Perhaps lower the front 1"? I can't imagine a 1" spacer in the rear is a good idea...but i could be wrong.

Sorry, I guess I missed some information...

The reason for needing to bring up the rear of the truck is that I put a leveling kit on the front and now it is roughly 1" higher in the front than the back. I do have the stock F350 blocks installed, but would buy aftermarket blocks either in 5 or 5 1/2",which are fairly common from what I have found (4 wheel parts). These would be identical to a stock block just taller. The reason that I mentioned adding a 1" block is that they are available to add to your existing block for the same results. I just don't want to stack blocks on my truck. Lowering the front by 1" is not an option.

The stock F-350 blocks are about 3 3/4 to 3 7/8 inches tall. Measure how much you want the rear to go up and add that to get the size block you need. If you have a carrier bearing, get a tapered block, if a one-piece driveshaft, get a flat block. Most manufacturers offer taller block. Icon has just about every size with the bump stops built in and you can get the longer u-bolts from them too (if needed). If you have a carrier bearing, you only need to shim it if you notice vibration after changing blocks.

Sorry....seems like alot of work and expense to raise the rear. They make 1" - 2" and 2 1/2" leveling kits for the front. Get the size you need for the front alot less expensive than blocks, u-bolts for the rear. Just my .02. Unless you just want to raise the truck period.

get air bags !!
the blocks $50 ,ubolts $50and the carrier shims , but you may or may not need them are 40ish$
airbags will prove a better investment and will adjust from 0 to 3.5 inches and for our application are not affected by lift when they are frame to spring mounted
ps my prices are probably all low
