Some positive news.
Well, at 175,000 miles I finally broke down and put new front struts on the old gal. I didn't think they were that bad - but OH what a difference. Also had new Michelin LTX M/S II's installed with an alignment. This is a rock solid truck! (BTW - the tires I replaced -Michelin LTX M/S -had 75,000 miles on them). Leaving tomorrow for my 6 week whitetail hunting adventure - 3 weeks in West Virginia, 1 week in upstate New York, and 2 weeks in Texas. Not at all concerned about the reliablity of my "04 F150.

South of Detroit, Red River County. We have 1/2 a section in the river bottom. Great hog and deer hunting. This property is about 60 miles - due west of Texarkana. It has been very productive since we got rid of the poachers.
Also, my sister has some land west of Boerne, west of San Antonio, that is covered up with Axis deer. Never hunted Axis but am willing to give it a try (bow only where she is.) I was talking to her on the phone the other night - she was on her back deck, and said there were 17 of them in her back yard.

Ive been hunting with some friends up in Fredericksburg, which is about 20 miles north of Boerne, and I'll tell you that axis are fun to hunt. First off, they get big and provide alot of meat, which is a major plus for me...being broke in college lol. Also, since they are overpopulating the hill country, there's usually a ton of them and no limit on hunting them!

in northern va this weekend is open for rifle and i had no shooters for muzzleloader so took off most of next week to try to catch the rut and shoot a good one but always have wanted to try texas so good luck and try to let us know how it went when you return!!!

Roger that. Actually, this is all about the kids. I have a 17 - almost 18 year old son, and a 16 year old daughter. Both love the outdoors and love to hunt and fish. This is a great time for me - travel and the kids flights are a pain - but we have been doing this for several years and it is a true blessing.

Opened them up and painted the inside. I looked - but can't find - Tylus has a thread starter in here somewhere with a comprehensive write up. I followed his "step by step" and it worked great. Be patient. I did mine a couple of years ago and they are holding up just fine.

You won't be disappointed by those tires in the least! I put the same ones on mine at around 30k and I have 65k on them now and they're barely broken in. Perfectly smooth on the highway and great grip in any situation. Just keep them rotated!!!

Good luck on the the hunting trip! I'm hoping to hit SD again in late Dec. to get a few more pheasants. My trip in Oct. was pretty far and few between. My son is 12 and is ready to turkey hunt this spring. I can not wait to see the buck fever when that tom comes strutting in! Thanks for the help on the TSB about the whine in the rear axle. Its great to have guy's like you on here to help out us newbies!
