Question

PO 541

My F350 started running like it had a miss yesterday. Lots of smoke and rough running. It was raining and cold out. This morning it was the same. I let it warm up and went to a trans shop to put it on the computer. I drove about 3 miles and maybe a half mile before I got there it started running fine. I had him test it anyway. It only had one code - PO 541. Would the intake heater make it run rough? And if so what made it go back to normal? Thanks for any help.

The Air Intake Heater will not affect your truck running poorly. It's only activated for extended idling and under certain conditions.

Thanks for the reply. What would cause it to throw a code? A relay problem? or ??

It is the first time I got a 541. It had a problem about a month ago but for different reasons. It ran bad this morning and the sun was out.
