and if it comes with the tailgate thats a nice bonus..
as the 08+ Tailgate is a popular mod to addon to the older trucks.
the only issue you'll run into is trying to use the 08+tailites (assuming they come with the box).. as the wiring harness isnt long enuf on the older truck to reach the newer position for the reverse bulb.
I have scored several beds in the past few years. Depends on how far you want to travel to get one to get the right one at the right price. I have 2 older F250 trucks with new beds. A white 99 F250 4x4 diesel , and a red 2000 F250 5.4 , both standard cab long bed former work trucks, and both now have 2011 take off beds, gates and rear bumpers installed, and both take off beds are in the correct color of each truck. The 2 beds with everything were in the $1200- $1300 range each, but one was 50 miles away, and the other one was 300 miles away.
For the lights to work right and be the easiest , simply use your old harness and splice
the new reverse pigtails on to it. For the fuel filler simply use 3 new self tapping screws using the new holes in the bedside, tapping the threads into the old fuel filler tube. A small hole drilled in the plastic upper left of the license plate fixes the spare tire access point.
