King Ranch Tailgate Handle

I thought it odd that the tailgate handle on my King Ranch is not "Pueblo Gold" like much of the other plastic trim (bed rail covers, running boards, bumper insets, etc.) - it is plain black. Had the idea to either paint it or apply an overlay - has anyone done this? The other option is to paint it body color (dark copper in my case).

The only other trim part that is black is the cowl cover, but that may not look as good if it were the lighter color. Any thoughts?

I had a 2008 F150 King Ranch which had the tailgate handle the same color as the body. I thought it looked great, now I have the 2011 F250 and it's plain black, I thought of getting it painted the same as the body. Just doesn't make sense, the rest of the handles on the truck are body color...
