92 f150 auto straight 6 The center bolt holding the connector to the eec was stripped so it wouldn't loosen or tighten. (intermittent fuel pump run time prob) I pulled the inner fender and disconnected enough wires to pull the whole eec out still connected. When I flipped it over I heard clunking from inside the eec box. Turns out it was the threaded insert rolling around inside. Not sure it that is enough to cause a short because the circuit board looks sealed with some clear stuff but anyway, at least I got the numbers off the eec unit so I can start looking for a new one. Not sure these numbers mean anything to anyone but here goes. Main box Number in big letters U2X1 Then EEC-IV SD47A F2TF - 12A650 - AXB G 62ES57AM23 43821 -289 2F26 For all I know it was replaced and is the wrong one considering the main connector bolt had spun the insert in the computer. Inside chip number 21230 20 9221 ford motorcd 1992 42299M53 Also did not happen to see a number on the door jamb except for weight ratings Where should I look for a new one? and confirm it's the right one? Thanks PS - still not sure how to get the connector apart since the bolt doesn't work and prying all around it seems like it will start breaking the casing
Rock Auto has several PCMs listed for your truck. I back tracked the part number you gave to the Standard Motor Products brand website then cross referenced to their part number of EM880.
Rock Auto is a very reputable aftermarket supplier and a supporter on this site. I use them quite often when I need parts.

Hey thanks I prob called 10 places and all they were interested in was the middle line of numbers like F2TF-12A650-AXB and no one seems to care about the Big letter program code like U2X1 Nice to hear the real story. Rock Auto sounds like they know their stuff.
Most parts store clerks have no idea about this stuff they just go by the info they are given from their suppliers. The box code such as U2X1 is the only thing that matters as it describes what the box is programmed for, the other line of numbers is just a date code(F2TF) common part number used for all EECs(12A650) and release(AXB) and that really doesn't tell you anything about the box.
F2TF-12A650-AXB is a Ford engineering number which crosses to a part number F3PZ-12A650-SA. It's a discontinued part from FoMoCo. The application is a 92 F150 4.9 E4OD with calibration code 2-52J-R0, so it's probably the correct one for your vehicle.
AmaZing! They say they have one so I guess I'll look and hope the BIG letters U2X1 are on there. or some confirmation it came off the same year model etc truck. sn. I find it interesting that there's no real way to test the eec but someone rebuilds them. Thanks everyone.
