Pulled out of parking stall today and started to make a slight left turn and then a loud clunk noise from seems to be my front end . At the time of noise it felt like something was binding. Pulled it into shop jacket front end up check every thing seems to ok no binding. Right wheel bearing had a very little play but other than that nothing I could see wrong. I was thinking maybe hubs were stinking. From that sound something could be damage but truck runs fine so far. Any ideas anyone ?
Did you have in 4x4 prior to parking the truck? Sometimes when we disengage out of 4x4 it doesn't always pop out right away, just a though, its happened to me once before.

About a month ago I tested my 4wheel drive to see if was working.
On the way home from work I started to hear it while driving down the road . It sounds like someone is hitting the bottom of the floor. At times its soft and other times it loud. When it happens truck seem to be running fine. It also sounds like a back fire through the filter. Still trying to figure out whats wrong. Anyone experience this kind of problem ?
Maybe a bad-loose body or bed bushings. The floorboard sound sure sounds like swaybar bushings, had the same problem. If you hear a backfire tru the airfilter then you have bigger problems than what we think or trying to figure out here now. A backfire thru the filter I believe from reading here means a bent pushrod. Somebody will correct me if I'm wrong.
Had about the same symptoms a couple of years ago. Felt woble/binding on slow sharp turns as turning a corner from a stop sign. Even had the wife drive it around in circles but couldn't determine what was causining it. Turned out it was one of the front axle U-Joints binding. Also saw some play in the front bearing on that side so changed them both and no trouble since.

Mike I dont think it is body or bed bushings. It does it going srtaight down the road. Also when the noise happens the truck doesnt miss a beat. I say it sounds like back fire at times and at the same time you can feel it on the floor. If the pushrod were bent wouldnt it happen all the time ? When the noise happens truck doesnt miss, shake, etc it runs fine. Anything else ?

.
Had a little play on the right side but the noise is coming from the left. You would have to pull the shaft out to really get a good look at it and feel how the bearings are. Well I guess Iam going to have to do it .
But would that cause it to happen going straight down the road ? And be intermittent ?
Just got back from a test drive I think its my locking hubs. It sounds like gears trying to mesh together. It sound pretty bad it did at low speeds and high speeds . More noticable when 4 wheel locked up. When I give gas locked up it made the noise almost all the time I step on the throttle. I will have to pull it apart and take a look.
Well guys found out my problem took it apart last night and found my right wheel hub bearing shot. Also both locking hubs were stuck in auto . Who makes good quality wheel hub ? How about napa,Checker etc. Found a bunch online also on ebay . I also found some fine shaving behind the locking hub in the housing . Maybe I will swap out for some better locking hubs. That will depend on how much the wheel hubs will cost.
I think I may be having the same problem. I am hearing the grinding noise on the drivers side when I am turning left on full turn more noticibly only in four wheel. It seems to be going in and out of four wheel ok. When I am going slow and turn right I don't hear it.
