You really don't lose that much ground clearance as the new tank is essentially longer and not deeper. It does hang a bit lower but nothing that will make a huge difference when off roading. If you do decide on the Titan install then I would not buy the Titan skid plates. Instead take it somewhere and modify the factory skid plate to make it work. The Titan one is fiberglass (or their plastic resin material) and doesn't provide much protection and I'm sure it wouldn't take much to make the factory metal plate work. Just my 2 cents.
