converting to power windows/locks
ive read through many threads here but cant find what im looking for, most people have just found a truck of the same color and swapped doors, but the donor truck is white and my truck is grey, i was wondering if there is any way i can just swap the parts in to my doors? i own the donor truck with the power windows and locks so its free if i can do it that way.

Yes you can swap the power locks and doors into your doors. The shells are all the same, with all the existing holes you will need. When I did the changeover on my doors (the donor doors didnt have power windows or locks) the only thing I did was reuse my parts along with short 1/4 bolts and lock nuts instead of rivets like the factory did. Also, while its all apart, this would be a good time to take the gear assembly apart and clean and re-grease it and check the torque pins for wear. They are cheap on ebay and easier to do it now, then have to take it all apart again when the pins give out from the old grease.

Just be aware there is a wiring harness that runs across the cab you will need. It's behind the dash just below the windsheild. I also converted my truck to PW/PL using a donor and I kept my doors, so it's doable. You just swap the window regulators and door panels.
