Anyone have that system? I was interested since my steering is shot and is going to be completely redone in the spring. I am also getting a 6" lift soon. Any comments on it? Please be as detailed as possible, I don't know much about it. Thanks...
Good setup Mustang. I have it on my 89 F150 with 4" lift. The TTB is not the greatest suspension for straight line stability, it tends to wander as road camber changes. Also the suspension geometry allows all 3 angles to vary as the suspension articulates. The superunner steering system nearly eliminates the toe variation and "bump steer" that the TTB is famous for. In my opinion it is worth it. If you get a lift get the longer radius arms as this lessens the caster change as the suspension articulates.

One more note, in order to use the kit you must use Superlifts axle pivot drop bracket for the left axle half. It is drilled to accept the bracket that mounts the idler arm. If you purchase one of thier lift kits it will be included. Otherwise you will need to modify or fabricate a bracket.

I plan on getting a skyjacker 6" lift. I bought superlift before and wouldn't buy there lift again. I am getting the extended radius arms. I havn't checked your gallery but I will now, if they are not any pictures up, is there a chance that you could take some for me?
There are 4 holes in the axle pivot drop bracket Superlift provides. They are used to mount another bracket that mounts the idler arm. What you end up with is a center link that is located by the pitman arm and idler arm. Two tie rod assy's attach the center link to the steering knuckles. The system works quite well as compared to the factory "inverted y" design.
Why don't you like Superlift kits? My 4" kit with the extended radius arms and superunner steering has performed very well during the 5 years it's been on. It was easy to install as well. What kind of pictures are you looking for? I have a cheap digital camera that may not provide the detail you are looking for.

As far as I know, the Skyjacker and Superlift lift kits are exactly the same with the exception of the shocks. Quality, parts fit, customer support, etc all on par for both companies. However, I would just pick the brand of lift that is on sale at the time and get the skyjacker shocks with it, that is why people think the superlift sucks.
I've had a superlift kit before and I assure you they are not the same. I had the 4" kit that went on my 95 F-150 before this new one, it's in the gallery. I don't have a skyjacker kit yet, but I do have 4" skyjacker coils, and had 4" superlift coils. The coils were designed differently. The coils on the superlift were wound really tight near the bottom, and they actually hit a lot, the paint was all scraped off the first 3-4 windings. I had alignment problems with my superlift, the rear blocks didn't fit either. Superlift isn't BAD, but i've never heard a bad thing about skyjacker's stuff, I've heard a couple on superlift. I went to superlift's website and they had a good picture of the two systems. The superrunner looks like a good product and I'd like to get it. I am looking for pictures of just the bracket and where it mounts together. I have a basic idea of what the system looks like from their website but what i'm concerned with is where/how it connects to that axle pivot bracket and how critical it's location is. The skyjacker and superlift brackets look the same, I might be able to just drill a hole in the skyjacker bracket and attach the superlift steering to it.
Sounds like they gave you some incorrect parts in your kit. A lack of quality assurance perhaps. I know they use different springs for my extended cab but they are not progressive rate as you seem to describe.
Anyway, if you buy the Superunner steering kit you will see the idler arm mounting bracket. You could actually use it as a template to drill the Skyjacker bracket if the Skyjacker bracket is shaped the same as the Superlift. Or buy the Superlift axle pivot drop bracket (for the left axle beam) and use it with the Skyjacker kit. It fits perfectly and is very strong. If you want I will attempt to take a picture and email it to you, but I am not sure the picture quality will suffice.

There is a picture of my springs on my truck in my gallery. Do they look like yours? Look at the red truck. I'm pretty sure the superlift and skyjacker axle pivot brackets are similar. So if I can use the idler arm mounting bracket as a template, and just mount it onto the axle pivot bracket from skyjacker, I should be ready to roll. Sound like a good plan?
If you don't mind, just a picture of the idler arm mounting bracket on the axle pivot bracket would be great. I'd just like an idea of what it looks like. MustangGT221(No Email Addresses In Posts!). Thanks a lot I appriciate the help.

Keep us posted. I'd like to know your outcome. I have a Skyjacker kit and have been thinking about the superrunner steering also. I've talked to several shops and know one seems to know enough about it. I don't want to spend that much money and find out it won't work.
Your old spring on the red F150 almost looks like a progressive rate spring with unequal coil spacing. Mine are not like that.
What kind of alignment problems did you have with the Superlift kit? I think any kit would require an alignment. The TTB suspension goes out of alignment as you vary the cargo weight in the vehicle. It really is a poor design but for some reason I continue to work with it. Anyway, if you can give me a few days I will try to get you some pictures. I just hope the weather cooperates here in CT. They are predicting a mess late today into tomorrow.

The only thing I rememer is that I know the box the springs came in said Superlift so, it wasn't an off brand by mistake. Maybe they have different coils? I don't think the TTB is that bad, it has alignment issues but it rides pretty good. For alignment, I don't rememeber exactly, but one side was neg by about 4 degrees and the the other positve by about 2 degrees. On the 4 degree side, I put it down to the 6" hole on the axle pivot bracket to correct it a little bit. But the truck got totalled before I actually got it aligned. Take your time with the pics, I won't be buying this till spring time (to cold out). Thanks again I appriciate it.
