Started out my weekend with an oil change (5K)(Rotella T6), and fuel filter (10k) change. While at it I checked my collanant and it was seriously low. Now I'm all worried because I'm about to pull out on a <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comffice:smarttags" /><st1:metricconverter w:st="on" ProductID="4500 mile">4500 mile</st1:metricconverter> journey back to Alaska towing about 6k. I have zero mods just doing all the maintance I've read on this site. We also just bought our new trailer and a new car so cash strapped. Should I just go to the dealership for more fluids and see what happens? Also I did not notice any of the puking or white smoke. Power is the same if not better since going to synthetic, also milage seems same. Thanks for any help. Jon
coolant levels change often. they will change from summer to winter as well.
very hard to give advise thats worth much without looking at the truck though.
Remember also the low mark is the "full" line on the degas bottle. Unless you have the sticker showing it as the "New Full" mark. You might think it is seriously low. Mine stays about a half inch below the "MINIMUM" line.
there is only about an inch at the rear of the degass. I just had it flushed a few monthes ago. I'll top off at the min mark and watch. Yeah it did just get down to the 30's here in AL. She'll be seeing -30's within a month
