smooth if your going to paint - pocket style if you are not...

I love the textured black but that is just me.

The ones on your truck 99 look like the actual cut-out flares. Are they? I just couldn't do it to a new rig or even an old one unless it had wheelwell cancer. I like the thought of bigger tires tho with no lift and increased top heaviness.

Thanks for all the replys. It looks like there's no one answer. It's true about the smooth lines with the extend-a-fender. It seems like the pocket style would look good on 2008+ style body with square lines.

The cutouts are my fav as well but i just don't need the extra clearence and don't want to cut the truck.

I tried looking at the EGR flares but their website is horrible. I can't even look at a picture of the flares for my truck...

I'll probly go with extend-a-fender, just need to decide to do them one tone or two...

I too went with the smooth look, had them painted to match as well. Been very happy with the results and look.

Those are Bushwacker OE flares, same as post #9 in this thread. I don't like the weird sharp body line they have, IMO the EGR flares look a lot better for the same coverage, I have those shown in post #8.

I would stick with Smooth flares... I think the flares with the little bolt pockets are over played and most everyone knows they aren't "bolted" on to your truck now anyways...

besides i like the look of the smooth flares more so now that I look at them in comparison.

I prefer the ones with the fake bolts...Buy 2 sets, and mail one to me and I'll hold on to them for you until you need them. Black or Red....either color. Thanks.

yeah they are actual cut-outs but my truck had them on it when i bought it. i agree i would hesitate to cut up a new truck like his but on my 99 i wouldnt mind to much as long as it was done right. plus i just think they down right look better

I wanted to do cutouts on my '03, but just couldn't bring myself to do the cutting, even with it already having a Salvage/Reconstructed title.
