instument cluster changability

instument cluster changability

I'm looking at buying a 2003 f-350 that unfortunatley has a large crack in the instrument cluster, am I right in assuming that the 2002-03 are exactly the same? Its an automatic.

They are the only ones with the digital odometer, so I would bet they are the same. It is a 7.3L right. I would think the 6.0 L 2003's would be different.

Is it lens part only that is cracked? Ed can fix you up with one. http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...layCatalogid=0

Ya its a 7.3 and yes it is just the lens. I figured they were sealed units, how abouts does the lens come off and on?

The lens is held in place with 4 tabs/catches. Two at the top and two on the bottom. Real simple to swap out and you won't have to mess with the cluster instruments at all.

Once you pull off the dash surround you can see the lens just snaps on with a few tabs. I don't think you need to pull the whole cluster, but if you do it is not too bad. Only four screws and the connectors. The trans selector is also attached, but there is a small tab that releases it.

To get the surround off you will need to pull the headlight & ESOF switches (just clipped in) then pull the radio (radio release tools are available at auto parts stores cheap).
