Didn't the Cougar come with a special two-speed 9" rear-end for one year? I've seen this advertised in automotive classifieds but the price has always been ridiculously high.

My 3rd. wife had a 2 speed Rearend........Boy do I miss HEEER!!!!.............Just kidding......If you install the Gear vendors overdrive you wouldn't have to have a two speed rearend....just a thought...........fd

Install a US Gear Direct/OD. If you have enough power, just shift it into OD and leave it. If you need more power, shift it into Direct and leave it. If you really need power. split shift it Hope this helps.
(Of course, it isn't cheap, but neither is a small 2 speed rear end).

I don't want you to mis-understand my reply.
The only true 2sp rear ends that I know about, are in F650's and bigger. The US Gear I was refering to is an add on to the back of the trans.
If someone knows of a small 2sp for a F350, I would sure like to hear about it.
