So I have been moving forward on the F6, luckily the weather has been pretty nice so I've been trying to take advantage of it as much as possible. unfortunatley it's supposed to get cold next week
here's the frame all cleaned up and painted, ( I used Gloss Black Rustoleum from Lowes)
Here's the frame rails for the Ford Script Stakebed (it will be a dump as well) thats why I/m replacing the wood 2x7 with steel, also I could have probably just used the 2x6 steel tube but figured I'd weld the 1x2 on top to get the proper height dimension)
I was hoping to get the bed frame and the stakebed all on before it got too cold to paint outside, but I'm not sure thats going to happen now?
I keep telling myself it's just an old farm truck (without the farm)
Josh - Honestly man, ease up!! You're making the rest of us look bad. I'm just sayin'.... Stu
Actually am, not going to work on it today (last sunny warm day too) supposed to be cold wet and snowy all next week.
Going out exploring in the West Desert with the family, going to Death Canyon ghost town (mining town) and to explore a couple other mines and mining districts in that area. Maybe I'll find some old MH remnents while out there too!
Your neighbors must love you! At this rate, the truck might be done in a few weeks. Great progress!!
Ya, the neighbors do love me! how did ya know lol
Actually yes I hope to have the truck close to done by March, Wifes orders! she really wants to take it in the St Pattys day parade! so I'll be busy trying... Hope I don't disappoint.
Well it's been over a year since my last update here.
Unfortunatly not as much progress as I would have liked but at least still moving forward.
Here is the stakbed from last year, it is still just sitting on the dump rails and needs to be attached still. (The Dump rails are attached to the hinge brackets but still need to hook up the hydraulic rams)
Seems like earlier this year that was the route i was going to take....but wow. my 51 F-6 was the same color, silvertone gray. glad to see that someone is going for the big truck look.
is that a Ford JPW jeep I had a 1945 Ford JPW jeep
Yep its a GPW and a 45 DOD 2-14-1945 Granpa's old jeep thats been passed down and I ended up with it

?? Pile a bunch of kids on it I guess for parades and such. other than that i havent a clue... I already feel like it's too nice to work it too hard, of course by the time its all back together maybe it will be 10 years old and look it, so it won't matter?? maybe start a manure hauling business or ??
O ya I offered it to a friend of mine to park or drive around with his political campaign signs on it, if he wanted it?? maybe enter it in the movie vehicle registry in an off chance they need a big truck for some scene's?
