Bed mount blocks for stepside?

Bed mount blocks for stepside?
as taking the bed off i realized there are just blocks of oak underneath there, in which some of them are broken or pretty rotted, should i just make new ones or does the bed mount block kit from lmc seem worth it? its 99 bucks and it says its for shortbed, and well im new to this generation truck and dont know the differences between the stepside bed and the shortbed
any tips or information would be very helpful

If you make them , make them out of a poly block or something similar. Doesnt hold moistuer and will not rot
