im looking at either purchasing a f250 or f350. but i noticed the 350s run a bit cheaper then the 250s and im just wondering what the difference is to make the price cheap and watch one is better for basic driving and pulling a car trailer to different states and stuff.
are you from Cali? We are taxed now for weight since it is a f-350. pretty ridiculous, registration is a tad higher but other than that, they are basically the same.
Or get an F250 and add air bags then you have a 350.
Not legally, you don't.
That sticker on the door post alone determines what you can haul, not the truck's actual performance. If you are pulling that car trailer commercially, they are NOT the same, no matter what you've done to change the F-250.
A reason for the price disparity may be that a lot of the 350's are duallys, and not everybody wants that.

Bags are also used for leveling, not adding the extra weight.
So the bags don't help make you leagal when carring extra weight but geting a 250 and saving some coin over a 350, as long as you don't use it commercaly, I would think would be a cheaper way to go. The OP didn't say how many cars he wants to hall at once so a 250 will do the job. Air bags help with many things, ride comfert, help with the extra weight, and yes can level out a load thats more then likely already over loaded.
i live in iowa so the road weight tax isnt going to apply and well probably just drive a couple states away and pick up older mustangs or broncos with the trialer. so the 350 only comes in dually??
No, but a dually experiences far less sway issues. Tire pressure is also a hugh influence with sway.
I believe you have more control of the load whether hauling or pulling with a F350. That is my reason for owning one.
Getting the best engine was just a fluke of fortune.

Welcome!! Great to see another Iowegian on here! Where are you from?
I've got a 350 that's a supercab/shortbed. Like Clay said, there isn't much difference between the two trucks. But if you get a 350, you'll need inspection papers, triangles, fire extinguisher, if it's for hire you'll need DOT numbers. A 250 will get you around all that.

I'm a Norwegian, is that anything remotely resembling a Iowegian? LOL
