Can someone tell me where my oil filter is supposed to be located? I have '00, EB, 5.4, 4X4, tow package. It is on the side of the motor but I think it should be remote. What package did remote come with? Is there any documentation anywhere to support. Is it possible there was a manufacturing mistake?

Well, here is the deal. I too got confused with this. I had a 1998 3 door 4x4 extended cab. Traded it for the 1999 four door extended cab model. And was blown away to find out that they moved it from the front bumper location like my 98 ("which was awesome") to the side of the motor. I had to reach through the wheel well to pull out the filter I almost threw up! It was horrible. I now have a 2000 expedition and the filter is the same as the 1999 f-150. Well to make a long story short, its not hard to change after all, If you go to your front bumper and lay on your back scoot under about 2 feet there is a giant hole where you can easily get to your filter both hands and all. I was amazed because if you try to approach it on the side of the vehicle it seems like it would be easier to pull the motor. This is not the case. good luck
