im new to the diesel scene and know very little. i was told that i can adjust the rod thats on the back of my turbo and get more boost. anybody ever done this or have any info on it? how much more boost will i get? the truck is a early 99 f250 7.3 auto
You're talking about adjusting the wastegate to hold it closed. The easier way to accomplish the same thing is to just disconnect the red line that is going to the wastegate. Are you chipped or tuned? The reason I ask is because you run the risk of harming your turbo by overboosting it with the wastegate disconnected. If its still running in the stock tune, it will gain you a couple of lbs of boost at WOT without hurting anything. It also will probably not be anything you'll really notice unless you have a boost gauge.
Take the K & N out throw it away go back to stock paper filter Fast!!!
K & N more air flow = more dirt past filter
Then search 6637 and a cover if you want more air
