In my Jeep Cherokee, I add engine oil after removing a gigantic plug that has a picture of an oil can on it through the top of the engine. On my my "new" 1973 F100 with a 360/390, there is no such obvious plug.
I feel like an idiot for having to ask this, but where in the absolute hell do I add oil to this beast? The silver cap on the passenger-side valve cover?
Well my large cap is on the drivers side, but your's is on the passenger side. I don't believe it actually makes a difference of which side though. I would have to say remove large cap and add oil.
looks like after market valve covers, so yeah, pull the chrome breather cap and put it there... On a stock engine/valve cover its (at least in my experiance) always on the drivers side front most end of the cover, it unscrews a half turn, and has the breather mounted to it that goes into the air cleaner...
I never knew these things came with a jack till I got my 78 and it was under the hood like that... but I don't have the tire tool, or what looks like a clip holding it in like that... wonder if thats stock.... I wonder if he has the jack handle too.. Never seen one of those intact, or exactly where it goes.
