hello!

Hey guys, since it looks like I'll be hanging out with you from now on I figured I might as well introduce myself: I'm a 24-y-o bimbo (and I'm 110% proud of it, tehe!) who can drink tequila by the gallon and prepare sushi faster than greasy light moves, and also happen to be the "new" owner of an IDI-powered Ford

Actually the truck is not new to me, it used to belong to my boyfriend who is one of your "post fiends" here on FTE - he recently found something else he just had to have but he was a bit short on cash, and since we both put so much work into that truck already it just would not be right to sell it to some random yahoo. So I generosity traded some of my savings for his title, and I'm now the proud owner of a 1990 F350 SCLB dually No turbo so she certainly is no rocketship, but then again my other vehicle is a 6.2 Blazer 4x4 so this is actually a bit of an improvement at least as far as butt-dyno power goes, tehe!

So, yes, I am certainly not new to diesels, and I have some experience with this 7.3 IDI, so I promise there won't be too many silly questions, however I'm definitely not the brightest knife in the box and there are some projects with this truck that still need finished, and knowing my goofball he'll be all over his new toy and I may have to resort to the FTE collective (that's actually kinda creepy, sounds like the Borg collective) for help and guidance

Anywho, nice to meet you all!

don't be afraid to ask questions, cause we were all newbies at one time or another.

Well if she has been feeding him sushi, he probably bought a saab. Poor feller.
Ford equals beer and catfish (with a cornmeal crust) But tequila will work, I just don't think they make enough of it to get me to eat sushi. lol

Oh, I see how you all are, making fun of my specialty. Sushi shall not be made fun of, for sushi is sacred, thus making fun of sushi is equal to making fun of me, and believe me you do NOT want to go there for my wrath will make you regret your ways from day one all the way into the afterlife!!!

Okay, now that I'm done with my evil sorceress act, let's get down to business:
1) you evil bunch will crucify him, so I am not telling anything till decides to admit fault on his own, and
2) he bought a Cummins, but not the new one with 48 valves per cylinder. You know how it goes, simple boy needs a simple engine (and you can say a simple girl too, but if you do dare actually say it I will vanquish you straight into oblivion), tehe

so what you are saying is that you eat raw fish for fun, and that your significant other is an idiot??

there is nothing wrong with #1,
and a good beating on the race track from a Ford IDI you once owned and now driven by your better half can fix #2

ADTMan, you're an instigator, aren't you? What have "milt" and "rupe" done to you to deserve this? Tehe!

And the truck is not that awesome, not by a long shot - if it were also a 4x4 or had a turbocharger or there was nor as much rust on it, and preferably all three of these, then it would be pretty awesome, yes, but not now it is not awesome at all. Goofball has been doing pretty good on the rust part, at least as far as safety goes, but the bed is too far gone I'm afraid. And no I am NOT installing a flat bed on this truck (was suggested that already several times by different people, and yes they were all banished from this plane of existence for their sacrilege), as I have no use for a band stand Actually there is a fiberglass shell/cap/topper-thing for the bed out back behind the house, just need to remove some bushes so as to not get skinned alive while making our way to it, goofball says to hack them down but I think I'll just make a nice little flaming inferno out of them (have you seen ash fall like snow, OMG it is so amazingly awesome, and the flames can be soooo pretty too!!!), anywho it's going to look kinda like a longer and wider street ford-made version of my blazer

The fish is not exactly raw, but yes he is an idiot sometimes, not in this situation however - I did say Cummins, yes, but I do not remember saying Dodge as well And as far as I know said Cummins is not stock, I think he said it has a bigger turbo and and injectors and also the injection pump is some fancy-pantsy thing... Also, honestly I do not think this particular IDI will do any decent on the track, it's nice to just drive around because it is reasonably comfortable and is also very stable on the road (much more stable than my Blazer at least), but it does not accelerate very quick at all. It does have a good top speed, however, it just takes a day and a half to get up to it - is this typical for all IDIs by the way, or just mine is a bit on the slow side (like both its owners, tehe)?

Also, when do I get to have my own signature on this site, when I have made 20 posts or something?
