ABS wheel
Did a brake job on my '96 and broke a tooth off of the front ABS star behind the rotor........Will this aafect my abs? It seems as though there are plenty of teeth and that one might not make a huge difference.

yes it will, when the broken tooth passes in front of the abs sensor, the sys will interpit this as a lock wheel causing a false abs activation, we have this problem mostly on cars as the ring cracks and causes a gap. and this missing tooth will be the same as the gap. i think you can only get the exciter ring on the rotor, but if your lucky you find someone who had to replace a rotor for bring too thin. use that exciter ring and install on your rotor. they just press on and off, jsut be carefull not to damage it and make sure it is set to the proper depth on the rotor as no being set to proper depth can cause a problem also. sincerely scott

They can be pulled off, and there's a shoulder on the hub that keeps you from pushing them on too far. Look at these pics.
