no fuel

Hey, I have an 88 F150 5.0 5 spd 4x4 with dual tanks and the problem is that the engine will only fire off with starting fluid then die acting like its not getting any fuel. I just bought it so I haven't been able to mess with it yet. Any ideas will help to get me going in the right direction, Thanks

Do you hear the fuel pump buzzing when you turn the key forward? If not, check your fuel relay....could be bad, that's not uncommon.
