How well will my truck ( 09 F-350 cc longbed, V10, with 4.10 gear ratio ) tow a 10,900lb fithwheel? We are wanting to trade our travel trailer ( 7,800lbs) for a 31' fithwheel, and travel around the country. Anyone tow this kind of weight with a 6.8L V10?
Comparing it to motorhomes I have driven utilizing that engine with a higher weight than you will have combined, and still towing a car, you may not win many races, but I don't see how you will have a problem.
Just be aware that you may have some "fun" towing in the mountains. Since the V10 makes its power in the higher RPM range, it'll have a tendency to scream going up the hills. I don't have a V-10, but talked to another camper friend with that truck, and he doesn't care for the hills, but it's something he's gotten used to and is okay with it. Only time will tell for you.
