four wheel drive electrical problems

I have a 2003 F250 6.0 FX4 with automatic transmission 5 speed 90,000 miles. When i engage the four low switch and shift into and out of drive i blow a number 45 fuse (ignition switch run/start feed) i understand the the 4x4 mode ties into this fuse, but not to sure as to how its all tied in. Are there any suggestions as to where to start troubleshooting this problem or possible causes for this issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

Thanks Maxium4x4, it ended up being a wire that the insulation was worn off by a bracket on the column shifter that was under the dash. nothing a zip tie and some electrical tape couldn't fix. After a little research i found that a common problem that causes the number 45 fuse to blow is the O/D on / off switch wire being rubbed raw by shifting and when it shorts out it will cause the #45 fuse to blow.
