i am trying to hook up a 460 bell housing on my 4-speed. i finally found one that is set up for a hydralic clutch but there is arrently a cover that bolts to the bottom of the housing the the owner lost and didn't have anymore. deos anyone have this cover or know other engines i might get this from. do the old style machanical clutches have this cover. if anyone has onne that they would part with please let me know. thanks
Very important!! Make sure that what you have is for a gas engine because a diesel has a different hole and dowel pattern. The diesel housing is identical except for the way it is drilled. It would just s*ck to get it in and find out it isn't right.
Mine has to go on before the flywheel is installed.
Does yours?
Yes. they all do. I have seen where someone forgot to put put it in and they they saw what they did and cut the plate into 2 halves and slid it in that way
