my stearing box in my 90 bronco has lots of play and is leaking from the bottom is there a way to save it? and did the stearing boxs froms 80's to 96 change does it matter what engine the truck had or if it was 4x4?
I actually just replaced my steering gear box on mine about 2 weeks ago. Cost me $146 and had an $80 core charge. I took mine off so I didnt have to front the core charge. Just dont smash your fingers w/ it it weighs about 40-50 lbs. For me it was a 1 man job getting it out, but it was a 2 man job getting it back in the steering flex couplers until i got a bolt in it, but then back to a 1 man job. Including travel time to the part store, took me about an hour and 15 minutes.

1:15! That's fast. It took me like 4hrs to do mine. I worked on the truck for over 6hrs when I was doin that as I had to replace a freeze plug and fix a few other things (it was new to me).
u got screwed $146 u should have went threw rockauto.com to get it....
its $97 with an $80 core...
it has the same warranty part number and everything
True, but when warranty time comes, who is footing the bill for a 50 pound box back and forth to RockAuto?
I like Rock, but I'm going to replace my gear box for the second time now and I am thankful I can simply return the lifetime warranty part to the local part store.
