Rant, Upset at minor thing

I’ve been looking at trucks for a while, one of the first things I do, is look at the back seat for child seat anchors. So far every crew cab has had them. Drove thru a car lot two weeks ago, saw a 09 F250 XLT. Thought to much money for my needs. Looked in the window, saw a 6 speed stick coming out of the floor. Said to my self screw the money, I had to have it. I love throwing the gears myself. Went to move my twines seats over to give the wife a break from going to work early, and there were no CHILD SEAT ANCHORS!!! What Ford engineer thought it would be ok to skip the anchors on a crew cab truck? It’s a pain in the *** to use seat belts to lock in a child seat. It’s my fault, I didn’t make sure before I signed the dotted line. Just assumed, since all the other Fords I looked at had them.

No idea why yours doesn't have them. Mine does. They are required by law since 2002 for all new cars, light trucks, mini-vans, etc... Look harder.

Are you talking about the tether strap mount on the back wall? My 04 doesn't have the strap mounts down in the seat. It was no big deal for me though cause the 04s still have lapbelts in middle. And for me tje lapbelt is easier to use.

My 08 has them. No biggie since my "little girl" is 22. Look under the cover on the back cab wall. My Lariat has little plastic covers over them. The anchors are welded to the cab structure, so they are probably there.

I'm talking about the little bars in the seat for the lower belts. Most new seats have quick connects, and you don’t have to use the seatbelts at all. I think all vehicles have to have the tether mount. It does have them. It wouldn’t be a big deal if only had one kid, but I have 2year old twins. There going to be in these seats for a while. My 07 Silverado and 08 Suburban have them. I've always been a Ford man. My last 2 trucks have been Chevy’s. It amazes me at the little things that GM puts on there vehicles that for charges extra for. Why doesn’t Ford put temp and compass in the mirror. I haven’t seen a GM that doesn’t have them in years (excluding the work cheap package), come to think of it, all my buddies that have Dodge trucks have this stuff on them also. The truck is a XLT, it’s not a Lariat. XLT’s aren’t stripped trucks. I do still think Ford has the best looking truck on the market.

Not sure how much it will help but maybe you can ask the dealer you bought it from. Be nice, explain the situation, hint about you thought it was a law that they be there, maybe they'll hook you up.

I have an 05 King Ranch crew cab. I do not have those metail anchors. I have to use the seat belts and run them through the kids car seats.
