How do you tell if there is a leak in the head gasket, i was looking at the A/C compressor that the shop did not put a clutch on ,what dumb F#%*'s
do that then send you down the road whithout telling you, they forgot to put it back on what a lame excuse ! Any way i found like a oily dirty sandy grit layer around the heads where they bolt down into the block where the gasket would be. Are they leaking or am i just being a freak ?
Has anyone heard from oreo havent heard from him in a while ?
if the truck runs good, i would say you are being paranoid over nothing.
my 88 has the same thing. it is oil residue that stuck there from the weeping valve cover gaskets that picked up road crud.
it has over 300,000 miles on it, and has not been washed in over 15 years. the dirt and crud are what is keeping the oil in the engine.
