Nice difference
I got the 80hp econo tune flash and what a difference off the line
usually when I get to the end of the bridge from where I turn on the highway, i am doing 55mph., now it does 75mph.
Wait a minute, I thought a PCM flash was just a general thing to keep the computer up to date and a chip added to that. I never took my PCM into the dealer because I don't trust them to do the job without screwing with it and causing problems.

I've always understood "PCM Flash" to be kind of a generic term meaning to "flash" new software from a computer onto the PCM and change the instructions that the PCM gives the rest of the truck.
Examples: My truck has an auto PCM but the truck is now a five speed. My options are to get a new PCM, have a chip burned for a manual, or have my PCM flashed to a manual PCM.
One time when I had my truck serviced by a shop he complimentary flashed the newest software update onto my PCM for me.
I think in Kevin's case he sent his PCM in and they flashed new software onto it that makes it run as if he had a multi position chip set on the 80 hp econo setting. But really it is just one setting that replaces the stock software with the 80 hp econo mode.
The performance tune is flashed directly on the pcm. It will be like the chip constantly on the 80 hp setting or whatever you choose. Jody can also flash it with the best stock programming available. If you get your pcm flashed with a performance tune and later want a multi position chip it wont matter and you don't need to get reflashed to stock because whatever seting the chip is in will override the pcm itself.if you have 80 flashed on the pcm and chip set to stock your truck will run like a stock truck. Also he can flash an auto pcm and turn it into a manual pcm with performance tunes if you wanted. You mail him your pcm and he puts a tune directly on it. The latest version of stock or any performance tune he has
