Some spray paint fixes it quickly.

My chrome tow hooks were rusted the day I bought the truck. And at 600 miles they are looking worse every day.

The rear bumper also had a rust spot. They put some chrome polish on but it came back right away.
Whats wrong with the chrome on new trucks?

I was referring to b2b warranty. Have them replace it, if thats the case.

I live in the desert, nothing rusts here

I do powder coating and have noticed in general the deterioration in quality of chrome. Perhaps the plating process has changed for environmental reasons, or perhaps they no longer plate in multiple layers, but there is definitely a difference. Hate to say it, but the worst I've seen is Harley Davidson parts. Ironically, H-D guys are just in love with chrome. When people bring parts in for coating, I always pre-warn them - no guarantees it won't bubble and lift, even if it's brand new from Harley.

I noticed the chrome on the front bumper on my 2004 6.0 literally faded off. It certainly didn't look like there were two or three layers of material there, and it wasn't from damage by me. So Harley isn't alone... You should get 25 years from chrome not 5!

It is my understanding that if it is chromed in the USA it will not hold up. We have too many regulations on harsh chemicals and working conditions. The best chrome comes out of Asia from what I have been told.
