Okay just finished EGR cooler hose and thermostat and fuel spring kit. So i was working on both sides of the motor. codes are po600,not sure of, po671- po678 got them all covered. I think these are glow plug circuit fault. Could i have hit or bumped something while doing the other work.Truck is 03 6.0
I'd guess (and some Google searches seem to support) that P0600 is a communication error. The other 8 are each glow plug.
Because you're getting all those codes, I'd have to say you managed to disconnect something going to the GPCM. If you disturbed the connector with the comm line, it may cause all those other codes. Maybe anyway.
I'd be looking at the GPCM connectors and wiring carefully.
Thanks David, should i be looking for a plug that came lose or what
Yeah, look for a pinched/pulled wire and maybe unplug then blow off the glow plug plugs and see if that helps. You may have leaned on the plugs while you were doing the EGR tube.
I think I'd be looking at the three connectors on the FICM themselves. Did you have to disconnect those? Or move the FICM? I'm not familiar with much of the EGR cooler stuff myself.
This is where wulfman was working for EGR hose. Anyone see what could have come loose while in these areas? Just wondering if the pictures might help. I don't have a clue.
Okay checked everything i could see without pulling CAC tubes and intake stuff, everything looks good. Checked for codes all gone, meaning i erased them after writing them down. been driving it, they havnt came back. maybe distrubed something and now all is good. truck starts fine
Okay codes are back, when starting this morning hard to start like glow plugs were not on. on passenger side battery on hot side, small cable held on 10mm bolt was lose ,i did not tighten it when i had batt out before. could this have caused codes, and glow plugs not work
It sounds plausible. If your truck is like mine, the passenger side feed cable goes to the alternator. All of the vehicle power comes off of the drivers side (except for the large starter cable). If you were not getting alternator power during the glow plug cycle, you could have had a serious low voltage problem.
I'd make sure everything is good and tight and clean, clear the codes and try again.
