140 IDM question

140 IDM question

My main question is if i turn it into a 140 can it be changed back to stock if needed? I cant tell what im replacing with the resistor, is it just a jumper or something?

You are replacing an existing resistor although I could not tell you its value. If you don't want to order any send me a PM and I can ship you one no charge.

That mod is not as popular as it once was. I know a few that changed back to the stock 120 IDM.

I got 5 buks, Jay, if you can hook me up with one...73.2k resistor. Beat'n a dead horse around here, finding one.

E-series = IDM 110. 94-97 F-series = IDM 100. 99-03 F-series = IDM 120

To convert IDM 120 to 140 you need a 73.2k ohm resistor. .5w 1%.

Digi-Key - PPC73.2KXCT-ND (Vishay/BC Components - 5033ED73K20F12AF5)

If you come up with an old IDM 100 or 110, they both take a 75k.

Ron do you know whats involved in making it a 120 again if the mod were to need reversed?

I hear some say the 140 is too touchy or they dont like it and stuff with tunes. That was my only curiosity.

It can be a little touchy but I don't really mind it most of the time. I have been trying my 60T tune for daily driving lately though.

trade with some one that wants to mod theres..advertise it in the classifieds would be a start...there are still alot of people out there and asking how to do this mod....you could also save the resistor you took out and try to re use it...

I took out the 140v modded IDM because of the touchy throttle and the fact that the engine didn't sound right with it. With my single shot injectors and tuning, I didn't want to risk damage to my engine due to too high of cylinder pressure and the 140 mod seemed to be doing that. It was great with stock sticks, but I never could get comfortable with it with my current mods.
