So I'm still new to this. I grew up in a Ford family in Virginia, but now i've been living in SoCal for about 12 years and this is where I plan on staying (I'm in the Navy). My truck is a 1968 F-250 Camper Special. It came with a 390, C6 and Dana 60 with 3.54 gears (according to the data plate). As far as I know (I haven't checked the casting #'s) it still has it's original drivetrain. It has about 137,000 original miles and has been in California all its life (it was built at the San Jose plant in August of 1968). The mods to it are: a 4V intake (part # C5AE then something) running an Edelbrock 1406 carb. It still has the original paint (the light green color). I eventualy want to restore it keeping the the original drive train (I do want to put an Autolite 4100 on it) and repainting it two tone blue and white.
I bought it in July from a friend of mine. The mileage on it is really a guess. But looking at the body, condition of the engine, etc. I'm guessing it is only at 100K miles. I could be wrong, though. There are alot of indications of it sitting for a while (wasp nest on the battery tray, almost no rust around the auxiliary tank, fresh looking paint on the main tank, etc.) before I bought it.
