Wanted to know your thoughts on which in-dash navigation unit to install. I have the factory 6 disc now with SYNC. My parts guy has told me you can't put in a system that will work with the SYNC. Has anyone put in an after market unit that works (with the steering wheel controls, and ability to hook up a back-up camera) that they recommend. Too many choices out there and haven't seen anythinig on this forum.
Thanks
Nate
I have the latest pioneer avic and like it. I have a PAC contoler that allows the stering wheel controls to work, and I bought the ford tailgate handle with the hole for the camera, and bought an ebay camera (not with IR though, it's too big) that I epoxied in. I like the setup... works well. It even plays music from my blackberry via bluetooth, which i find i use more that the Ipod now....
i am thining like you bhd, I have the smae setup as the the original poster and just dont use sync enough to justify it. Especially having an 09 model that cannot use the sync navigation.
I have the Kenwood DNX 8120. Has steering wheel controls too. My back up camera is part of the rear license plate holder. Probably a lot like senix has, but with a couple more doo dads. It really has a nice clean look. Doesn't have a lot of ***** & buttons all around it.
this is some good info..
Anyone ever find out how difficult it would be to put the stock Nav system in?
you would think junk yards would have for a decent buck.

on the BT music streaming, the X910 does not provide the stereo (A2DP) profile like the 920/110/120 do.. but I was able to get a Sprint Anycom Bluetooth A2DP Reciever which plugs into the Ipod cable. You set the Source input to Video instead of 'ipod' and then you can stream Pandora thru the head unit... but only two channel stereo (front speakers)..
the phone will BT connect to BOTH BT sources at the same time for different services..
