smoking when cold start
my 99 f-250 7.3l smokes alot in the morning. i replaced injector o'rings. no difference. i took it to the ford garage thay said it was injector cups. i replaced them. it stills smokes in the morning like crazy for first few min. than it doesnt smoke at all. it has 246k has all kind of power. any idears

runs rough at first. 30 seconds. the smoke is white/gray I thought the fire dept. was going to come. some morning its worst than others. after first start it runs great and starts good has lots of power.

Mine is the same way. I think its normal. You may want to use info on that link and make sure all your glow plugs are working correctly along with the relay. You would know if it wasnt working at all or if alot were bad because it wouldnt start easily of course. But a few guys on here had alot of smoke and fixed them all up and it did clear up some smoke.

A couple of years ago my GPR crapped out. I was getting big smoke on cool mornings with ragged starts. Put a new GPR on her and it solved both problems. Check the thread above and do some poking around. Maybe that's it, hope so, it's a cheap and easy fix.
