I have a 96 Ranger Super Cab XLT w/2.3L and 158,000 miles that I bought in 98 w/12,000 miles. It has 3.73 gears, but it would be nice to have 4.10's as uphill climbs are rough with the P235 75 15" tires. Other than regular oil/filter changes I've only had to replace the water pump, radiator hoses, and the timimg belt and my brakes seem to last along time in between replacements. It's been very low maintenance so far and runs very well, but I'm wondering when I'll need to replace the clutch. And after reading this forum I'm thinking I need to clean deposit built up in the engine, but not sure what type of work that includes.

96 Ext Cab 4x4 w/4.0L and 5spd. Got 204,092 on odometer. Only thing I have ever had to replace is a starter and a clutch. I run only full synthetics in all boxes. So far , so good.
But , I am planning to do a Explorer 302 conversion soon!

Pushing 175,000 on my '94 Mazda B-4000 4X4 5spd stick 21.5 mpg I don't run the dog sitt out of it.
Codes galore, which will be my next new post. Being a minor dented ride with no rust... who cares?
I take it in da bush too much to give a d**n about dents and paint. I'll just be adding more, yep!
Just hope the clutch lasts through the winter, we shall see.
'You Pee' winters can be rough...
and it has a kicka*s heater
and that is good.
I expect many more years of service from my ride,. You take care of it, and it will take care of you.
Or you can walk outta da bush, eh!

I had a 89 2.3 5 speed when I decided driving 84 miles a day, it would not last many more months. It had 246,000 miles on it when I got the 06. I drove the old one alll over the west coast, to Arazona, Several times to Nevada, Oregon, Cali and Montana. I did replace the engine at about 205K. Replaced the clutch at about 180K. She didn't look so good but was, is a good old truck. My 27 year old son has it now. Doesn't see the miles I put on it. Sat all summer while he rode his crotch rocket.

My new Ranger has 29,400. And I have only had it 11 months! Bought it new showing 288 miles.
