JGCorley-
Try changing out your DPFE sensor. You may get a code for the EGR sensor on a CEL, but I had the same problem 6 months ago. I got the DPFE sensor from NAPA for $60 and it fixed the problem right up. Also, you might go ahead and change out the EGR valve at the same time. Both are a breeze to switch out...takes about 10 minutes. Good luck

I had a 1991 2.3L w/ 99,993 when I sold it about two years ago, it was my first stick shift so we had to replace the clucth once. Other than reg maintance (ie: spark plugs and oil changes) nothing. It was like the mailman, Very reliable would start everyday snow, rain, sleat, or hail

Only complaint was it had no A/C, but at highway speeds with window down and rear sliding window open it was not bad.

Just turned 200,000 on my 1991 Ranger 4.0L with the original engine. I replaced the Auto. trans. twice though.I started using Amsoil at about 140,000 miles in my engine. I think it has made a difference.

MY Truck

1994 B3000. This is my first post. I'm very PROUD to say that today my truck just flipped to 207,000! I had most of the basic maintence,Brakes mostly.
Rebuilt the Rear Axle, too heavy of a load once. Couple of times had to replace the ABS valves. Orginal Clutch, knock on wood!
Religous oil changes at 3k, All different brands of oil.
Cheers,
Doug

Wink

My 1987 2.9 4x4 has just turned 205,000. Nothing major just gas and oil and some tender care. I hope to see 200k more.
