Release Bearing
Ok, two bits of advice received, both from same auto shop. Now I will ask the pros. When a slave cylinder is bought, the release bearing is compressed in by a metal ring at the end of the sleeve. Should the metal ring be taken off before installation? Should it be taken off after installation and remounting of tranny to engine, or should it be left on totally. Advice received was 1) leave on totally and 2) take off after tranny has been butted to engine. Any help on this one?
