does anyone know of where i could get a bed rail roll bar for a flareside f150? my trucks flareside so i already dont have much bed room so i was wanting the kind that mounts to your bedrails instead of the floor of the bed.
anyone have one of these they could post pics of? or have any links to where i could get one. has anyone on here tried fabricating their own roll bar?
A roll bar that mounts to the bed rails ain't nothing more than a fancy offroad lights bar really, as should you actually flip over on the roof that bed ain't gonna support the weight of the truck...
I honestly do not see the point to those at all. They look cheesy, because its obvious they are fake. I remember the late 80s to early 90s Dakota sport sometimes had it. I woudn't put it on my truck.
I've never seen one like that man, the only roll bars I've seen bolt down to the bed floor. They do make those for stepsides as well... What goes on the bedrails is called a headache rack, it's to prevent heavy stuff in the bed from coming in to say hi to you through the rear window when you lay on the brakes hard, and you can also mount lights on top of it - is that what you're looking for? If so then "Back Rack" is a brand that seems quite popular, there was another one I see fairly often but I forgot the name of it. Anyways, check this place out: Headache racks by Weatherguard, BackRack and more
Have not seen one in a while. The use to be called show bars, sport bars or, Light bars as they were not really rated for roll protection as already said here. However there seams to be a few places I found online offering what I think your looking for. You can also try some of the bigger off road stores / sites: 4 Wheel parts, desert rat, maybe even summit racing as they have a lot of show stuff as well.
No im talking about the show bar or light bar or w/e not the actual roll bar or the one that mounts in the bed. Ive seen ones that mount to the bed rails so it dnt take up any bed space. All im wanting it for is the offroad lights. Not for actual rollover protection

Gotcha, well in that case why not install a light bar that goes on the cab? This way you can run offroad lights, and still have the bed 100% free for whatever you may end up loading in there. Take a look at these light bars made by Carr: CARR Light Bars
Hey man, it's your truck, it's only fair you equip it how you like it Good to know you foud something that would work for that purpose tho - for my own truck I built me a light bar that bolts to the sides of the B-pillars, worked pretty decent and looked decent too...
do you have any pictures of it? im not sure what the b-pillars are.
i may try and take on the task of building my own. we have a pipe bender and a welder.
i think one of the problems i have been having is finding the right name for what im looking for. these things have so many names its not even funny. what i was looking for is a "rail mount" light bar. that one website has a bunch of them for me to get ideas from.
B-pillars are the narrow vertical walls on the sides of the cab behind the doors. I couldn't find any pictures of the thing, and I can't take some either cause it's no longer on my truck due to interference issues with my camper... But if you liked some of those ones you found on the site, just use those to design yours.
