A few years back, somebody posted that they hade a manual for an American Overdrive unit. Is this person still reading this forum? I am looking for this information.
I've scanned the American Overdrive for C6 manual.
It's in PDF format and about 6.5 MB in size. Kind of oddly formatted, as my copy was a Xerox made from a tattered original, but I think all the info is there.
I've tried to attach it here, but i think it's too big. didn't show up.
I don't have any web server to upload it to at the moment, so if you'd like me to email it to, PM me your email address.

Hey guys, the file I got was for a 2WD C6. Has anyone got the file for the NP205? I'm sure I can figure it out, but it'd be nice to have the 4x4 version too....
sorry, 86turbodsl, the unit and instructions I have and sent you are for C6.
I had assumed that's what you needed, as you quoted the original request for C6 instructions... anyways, that's all i have. maybe helps some. good luck with
your install. mine's going on soon. '82 E350 /w 400ci, C6 & 3.73's.
Packlet, sorry about that. I should have been more clear my unit is C6 w/transfer case. there's an additional switch, some wiring, and a collar in my package not in the instructions. I'm fairly sure the collar is to take up play in the output shaft of the 205 when I remove the bearing adapter, but I have no idea how to hook up the extra switch, or any torque specs on anything. Seeing as how this is going in a diesel, I'll probably take it apart and locktite everything I can!
i'm working on posting the pdf to a web site or ftp server. will update with link here when that's available. If anyone wants it sooner, just PM me your email.
BTW, if you're installing one of these, you might wanna check out the following before you install the unit: After installing mine (NOS - never used before,) I was burning out speedo driven gears every few hundred miles. The little shaft holding the drive gear in the tailhousing has a groove in it that's supposed to have a spring-steel clip on to hold the shaft in place. The clip on mine had broken somehow and the shaft was able to push back into the tailhousing about 1/2", causing it to disconnect the drive and driven gears. The mating & unmating as the tranny pressure pushed the shaft back out caused the speedo to go out more and more frequently, eventually completely eating the driven gear and the speedo died completely. Luckily, the steel clip is a standard TH400 part, so my tranny guy was able to replace it once we figured out the issue. So before installing (or if your speed drops out/in after installing) check if the drive gear can be pushed back into the tailhousing. If so, you've lost your clip...
