Automatic Head Lamp Add On

Automatic Head Lamp Add On
<HR style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #d1d1e1; COLOR: #d1d1e1" SIZE=1 itxtvisited="1"><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->Just thought I would share my recent find... I have a 2010 F250 that came without auto head lamps and fog lights... Talked to Ed about getting a fog light kit and auto head lamps, we werent sure if it would work but i decided to order the sensor for the auto lamps and try it out. Turns out thats all you need and now i have auto head lamps. All you have to do is pull out the insert in the center of the dash and plug in the light sensor, then plug in a new switch for the dash. pretty inexpensive too, probably cheaper than the factory option. Talk to Ed if you want to do the same, he has the info.

The wiring is present in 08's, too... but I was under the impression that the auto lamps were a parameter that had to be enabled in the PCM...

Nope, any super duty 08-10 has the harness there and all you have to do is plug in the sensor and the new switch.. that is all, i did it in 5 minutes in my driveway. You arent going to have daytime running lights from this, just auto head lamps.

Do you know which part numbers you ordered? I was putting fog lamps in anyway so while I'm at it I might as well get the auto lamps too
