64 Engines
I found a 1964 Ford PU in decent condition, and got it for fifty bucks. What engines were offered in these. Will post pics and and all the numbers when I get it hauled home next week.

Thanks Bill, Will have to add to my garage and post pics soon. I am pretty excited as this will be my first engine re build.

P = Twin Cities MN Assembly Plant.
520374 = 1964, assembled March 1964.
128" Wheelbase.
L = Holly Green.
F100 2WD, 5,000 lbs. GVWR

F = Borg Warner T-98 4 Speed Manual Transmission.

135 net HP @ 3,600 RPM (292 2V).
DSO is usually 2 numbers and is specific. The DSO refers to the particular Ford District Sales Ofiice, where the original selling dealer ordered the truck from.
If the interior smells like mice, getting rid of the stink may take months, but...
Get some Jonny Cat cat litter, place in a bowl and heat it to 350 degrees in the oven for 1/2 hour.
Lay a piece of cardboard on the floor mat, place the bowl on it, close the doors, vent windows and roll up the windows.
The cat litter will absorb the inside air, so it will be necessary to repeat this process a coupla times.
This stuff also works to dehumidify gun safes.

Bill, Have used it for a gun room, never thought about the cab of a truck. It dont stink bad, more musty and stuff. The trees over grown the area and the interrior is in pretty good shape. I found the owners manual and all the registration stuff in no chewed condition in the glove box so confident that the mice found a better home!

I wont pic it up till Wed but plan to take some pics Monday of it where I found it. I still cant understand how lucky I got.
She had a lot of fords, whole family, and a 50's model international PU, but wouldnt come off if it! She keeps the town car outside, and parks her Willie's Jeep in the garage.
She has one, maybe two other trucks she may get rid of, will get information on those if anyone is interested.

The Economy 50.00 trucks always came with Briggs and Stratton engines.
