Hi All,
My name is Dan. I picked up an 84 F250 with a 351w some months back and have had quite an adventure with it since I got it. Bought in rural Monroe for $900 with 110000 mi from the original owner (even signed over the 84 title). Even has "Sound Ford Renton, WA" stamped on the bumper. It's just in terrific condition inside and out. Under the hood has been a much different story.
- I fell in love at first sight and it's the worst thing that couldve happened. after a successful and very promising test drive, I put it on 522 going home back to Seattle and I didn't get 10mi out of town before it overheated due to bad thermostat (of course, I had no temp gauge). The idiot who towed me insisted I had to start the truck and pull it on to his flatbed or he wouldn't tow me. Argued for a bit and decided I wanted to go home. Fired up the engine and "KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK" if looks could have killed he wouldve been dead 50 times over.
- Decided that rather than take the loss, I'd save money and put a new motor in it and we'd be good to go. It now sits in my buddy's shop over in Snohomish where its been the last few months while we've worked on it most weekends. After a very long road removing the old engine and swapping from a full emissions system to a DSII ignition, there's a pristine, hungry 351W in there now. We're trying to clear up an issue with the oil pan seal leaking in the back and that should put me on the road. Sucks to have had a truck for 4 months and only drive it 30 beleagured miles.. but I'm hopeful.
Anyway, I wont be with you long. Me and my lady are relocating to the east coast to be closer to family. I'm sure going to miss the NW. One last summer to live it up!! Hopefully I can get out to one or two events before that happens.

I did hear from my neighbor that every friday in i think Covington, they have a car show. Problem is the cars have to be 72 or older (mines a 78) and you can't have a 4wd. BUT he said later in the night sometimes when everyone is done they leave the gates open so people could go and show off their vehicles and such. It would be kinda cool to look into it. I have thought a bit about setting up a meeting thing similar to what these mustang guys i used to roll with did. They would meet at a Krispy Kreme in Puyallup on Meridian. It was every friday night and it brought a lot of customers to KK but every now and again you would get the occasional kid driving a ricer who wants to put his word in, so he burns out. This pissed off the mall security there and the owner of the KK store. Pretty soon they were all kicked out and the doughnut store is closing.
